Show Us the Father

I believe that we often miss the real meaning and depths of scripture if we allow them to become too familiar to us without digging deeper! Whenever we read about all of the wonderful works that Jesus did in the New Testament, let us remember that He is still actively at work in our lives in much the same way! Remember when He said "My Father is always working, and so Am I" (John Chapter 17:5)?From God’s perspective, Jesus was saying "My Father is always working and so am I, or I AM too". In other words, He was saying that He is a very important part of the God Head, and that Him and His Father are One! The Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) always works together in unison, for they share the same goals and purpose, and there are no divisions amongst them or any aspirations to receive any Glory for themselves, for when one part of the whole is Glorified, then the Father is revealed and lifted up! Think about it like this: The Holy Spirit shines Revelatory light that points onto Jesus. In all ways He says "Look unto Jesus, The Author and Finisher of our Faith!" (Hebrews 12:2) Jesus is the Word of God who has become Flesh and dwelt among us. In other words, He is the part of the God Head that is seen, a visual representation of God becoming as a man and dwelling among us! Jesus said "When you have seen me, you’ve seen the Father!" (John 14:9). One portion of Jesus’s mission was to bring revelatory knowledge of the Father into the world! In John Chapter 14:9-11 Jesus gives us greater insight as to how the preordained Heavenly relationship of the Trinity works and How His mission on Earth was accomplished: 9 Yeshua said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time, and you haven’t come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own; but the Father dwelling in Me does His works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me—or at least believe because of the works themselves. (Tree of Life Version) In other words, The Father was working inside of Jesus to accomplish His Earthly plans, and at the same time, Jesus was teaching us that He and the Father were and are One! As the scripture says: "Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one". Wherever God is there is true unity, and unity of purpose! Just as every multifaceted aspect of God is revealed to us to demonstrate not only His Bigness, but also to give us insight into The Fulness and Wholeness of who He is! Of course as flesh and blood, we have a difficult time grasping these deep truths. Think of it like this: Throughout the scriptures God has revealed key aspects of who He is in parts and parcels that can be easily digested. Here a little and there a little so as not to overwhelm us with to totality of His Glory all at one time! We are given key insight into how each aspect of Him works in conjunction so that He can accomplish His perfect will here upon the Earth, but also by working and doing things in the beautiful ways that He does things! In these magnificent ways, His heart towards us is revealed in everything as to display His light and goodness in everything, All in All! He does all things well church! A little bit of revelatory glory here, a little bit of Revelation there, here a little and there a little adds up to multitudes of clues that are dispersed throughout all of creation, manifesting in Jesus and culminating in the Revelatory knowledge of who God really is!!! In other words, the Trinity shows us the Glory of God in ways that we may not always understand, but at the same time we get glimpses of Him that are shed abroad so that they can help us in our understanding of the glorious and deep truths! We would choke if all of the depths of who God is were shown to us and given to us in one large lump sum, but, if God gives us parts and parcels in His good timing when we are able to receive them, then that is the heart of the Father revealed! No loving Father would give meat to a child who is not yet ready to digest it. I don’t want to argue about it, this is only for those who are mature in the faith. Oh how He loves us church!
